The only reason you won't see kits higher than 128gb of ram is that consumer CPUs don't support more than 128gb of ram, and even then, what are you doing that you need more than 64gb, let alone 128gb. You want more? Go and buy workstation grade or even server grade sticks of ram, nothing is stopping you from buying 64gb sticks of ram or even higher capacities.
Most people don't need more than 32gb of ram, and a lot of people are more than happy with 16gb.Ģ56gb kits and support for them will be a thing when 64gb-128gb won't be enough for prosumer applications. On the consumer side you won't find kits bigger than 64 since 64gb is already close to the prosumer domain. High capacity has always been a thing you know? Even ddr4 has unbuffered 64gb sticks.
